New Ellwood space should be open by late March
The natural-foods grocer, at Ellwood Avenue and Thompson Street near Carytown, expects to open the expanded space March 23. [...] The grocer is using the new space for an enlarged dining area, expanded wine and beer selection and for a community room.
Ellwood’s Cafe to close this week
Company spokesperson Paige Bishop confirmed that Ellwood Thompson’s signed a lease to take over the 4,800-square-foot former Blockbuster space next to the grocery store and will incorporate the cafe into the expansion. Ellwood’s Cafe will close Sept. 8.

Ellwood’s to expand to D.C. (again?)
The Richmond-based natural-food grocer has reached a preliminary agreement to open a store in Montgomery County, Md., at the Rockville Town Square, an upscale community that has restaurants, shops and apartments.
